Peaceful valley chicken blend with omega 3

I've found a wonderful organic seed mix for planting made especially for chickens to forage on. It's a mix containing  rye grass,  buckwheat, flax, strawberry clover, alfalfa, white clover, red clover, and broadleaf trefoil. It's packed full of omega 3 and available from Peaceful Valley Farm and Garden Supply. It's called omega 3 chicken forage blend. One pound is about 3 dollars. You can plant it in pasture or in flats that you can move around. They also sell the flats for about two dollars for a nice big flat. It is very easy to grow and is germinated rather quickly. The chickens go crazy for this mix and I know I'm giving them a good healthy treat. I have been growing it now for a couple years. What I do is plant it in their run first. (You must be able to keep chickens out while plants are sprouting) when they finish it off in the run I plant flats I can move around for them to eat on. The absolutely love the tender sprouts!  In fact they love it so much I continue to keep it sprouted for them from the end of February throughout the summer. It starts getting warmer in my area the end of February.  You would plant during the time your weather warms in your area. This is such a great product if you have chickens!! I just know they would love it. It's a affordable way to provide a healthy treat. Take a look at peaceful valleys Web site and search in the search area omega 3 chicken forage blend. Your chickens will thank you for it! You can be confident that your providing them with a nutritional  treat. I just know they will love it!!
